Sample Itinerary:
Bush School
"Children are the future of conservation and if they can be shown to love being involved instead of having to be involved, we are one step closer towards a consciousness that can only lead to a brighter future for our disappearing wilderness."
Adventure
The bush school offers adventure programmes where children can benefit through an environmental awareness and adventure experience. They will learn about conservation initiatives such as the protection of biodiversity, sustainable management of natural resources as well as the use of alternative energy such as solar, wind and water. They are also encouraged to participate in outdoor pursuits such as game counts, identification of mammals, birds and insects, tracking of wildlife, tuition in the setting up of a camp and waste management. They will learn the art of survival using the senses of sight, sound, smell and touch. They will also have the opportunity to experience a choice of outdoor activities on offer such as abseiling, rock climbing, mountain biking, team building, orienteering, walking, swimming, tubing and kloofing. Environmental studies are undertaken by our experienced guides and instructors and would include night expeditions and game drives.
Abseiling at the cliffs in the river gorge.
DETAILS OF ACTIVITIES ON OFFER
ROCKCLIMBING
Rock climbing at the cliffs in the river gorge. After belay school and instruction on safety aspects on a cliff environment, the group is introduced to rock climbing. Participants belay each other in order to learn and remember the idea of trust formation and group support.
ABSEILI NG
Challenging their fears abseiling/rappelling is taught at the cliffs with highly qualified instructors. Because
of the technicalities involved the group is led through the abseiling session with instructors
